May 13, 2008 -- Going Green has moved beyond buzzword status to become a business imperative that can lower costs and provide a competitive advantage in the marketplace, according to a recent Aberdeen Group report. Yet, an alarming number of companies are taking on green initiatives without a holistic vision and most are overwhelmingly unprepared to reap the environmental, social and economical benefits earned by those with well-planned and well-executed sustainability initiatives, the report adds.
Interface is one such company that is reaping the benefit of going green the right way. A $1.1 billion global manufacturer of commercial carpets, Interface has doubled its core business through sustainable innovation and increased NASDAQ valuation of the company by five times.
At Front End of Innovation, Vice President John Bradford will discuss Interface’s green innovation strategy, their use of biomimicry and Invention Machine’s innovation software to increase revenue growth, predict emerging trends and generate and validate ideas consistently. He will also discuss Interface’s environmental scoring method developed to deliver cost effective, environment friendly and sustainable products.
